Programme Overview: Models and Decision Systems is developing and implementing reliability
and maintenance models, business processes and procedures using an
holistic approach to asset maintenance and management.
The models integrate business goals, production and maintenance
functions, taking into account total life cycle costs including
acquisition, operations, maintenance and opportunity costs, and the cost
of down time risks.
The programme will significantly advance data analysis and reliability
models, business architecture and strategic decision systems suitable for
each CIEAM industry sector in physical engineering asset management.
The programmes specific aims are:
- to develop and test intelligent maintenance decision systems for
asset management processes suitable for CIEAM industry sectors
- to develop applicable reliability analysis models based on advanced
data models and failure analysis algorithms.
Integrated research outputs will accommodate the requirements of
individual industries.
