CIEAM's Research

CIEAM's research is divided into 5 themes, or research programmes, which focus on key disciplines in the engineering asset management field.

CIEAM's Education and Training programme integrates the various outcomes from each of these themes to develop industry-relevant professional development curricula and award courses, as well as overseeing the development of the Centre's post graduates.

The Research Committee comprises members from CIEAM's participants and is the management committee that administers the development and direction of research projects undertaken in each of these themes.

Advanced Sensors is developing sensor technologies for intelligent maintenance systems to detect and quantify machine degradation and structural damage.

Intelligent Diagnostics and Remnant Life Prediction is developing technologies to streamline and automate fault diagnosis and prognosis in intelligent maintenance systems -- activities that are central to accurate maintenance planning and scheduling.

Systems Integration and IT is developing standards and tools for data exchange and integration between management information systems and asset based technical systems to provide strategic management decision tools in maintenance and operations.

Strategic Human Dimensions is developing best practice approaches to effectively transfer and integrate research into asset management business practice.
