This equipment expedites research in two of CIEAM's projects: Condition monitoring of low
speed machinery and Integrated decision systems, under the Intelligent Diagnostics & Remnant Life Prediction research programme, allowing for more accurate results.
MACHINERY FAULT SIMULATOR (MFS)
The MFS is a comprehensive Laboratory Scale Machine for
performing rotor dynamics experiments and learning vibration
signatures of the most common machinery faults.
In-depth studies of
a variety of faults can be conducted using over 28 application
specific option kits supplied by SpectraQuest.
ULTRAPROBE® 9000
The Ultraprobe 9000 Kit Complete is a digital ultrasonic
inspection, information storage and retrieval system particularly
useful for low speed machinery.
Ultrasound inspection provides early
warning of bearing failure, detects lack of lubrication, prevents
over lubrication and can be used on high as well as low speed
bearings. And, since ultrasound is a high frequency, short wave
signal background noises can be filtered out to focus on the
specific item to be inspected.
