CIEAM's research is divided into 5 themes which are listed below. Each research programme focuses on key disciplines in the engineering asset management field.
CIEAM's Education and Training programme integrates the various outcomes from across the themes to develop industry-relevant professional development curricula and award courses, as well as overseeing the development of our postgraduates.
The Research Committee is resourced from our participants, and is the management group that administers the development and direction of research projects undertaken in each of the themes.
Models and Decision Systems
Developing and implementing reliability and maintenance models, business processes and procedures using an holistic approach to asset maintenance and management.
Advanced Sensors
Developing sensor technologies for intelligent maintenance systems to detect and quantify machine degradation and structural damage.
Intelligent Diagnostics and Remnant Life Prediction
Developing technologies to streamline and automate fault diagnosis and prognosis in intelligent maintenance systems; activities that are central to accurate maintenance planning and scheduling.
Systems Integration and IT
Developing standards and tools for data exchange and integration between management information systems and asset based technical systems to provide strategic management decision tools in maintenance and operations.
Strategic Human Dimensions
Developing best practice approaches to effectively transfer and integrate research into asset management business practice.
